Why Reuse?

Upcycled Jean Pocket Placemats:  I make these using vintage repurposed blue jeans & pockets, because I believe in recycling and reusing what I can, and they are so fun and colorful!!  I was always told by my mother "waste not want not" which is pure Scotch thinking and is the purest form of using the things on hand for daily devices.  Trying to get back to the simple life makes you think about the waste in the world today.  Landfills are filling up, and this is but one little way that I can help.  The use of old unused items seems the perfect way to make tools that are needed every day, from "stuff" that you already have on hand.  There are so many uses for denim.  Keep an eye out here at MountainsideGoods.com as the sewing machine is just warming up.

My Placemats

These placemats are made with vintage recycled blue jeans & pockets, blue jean material (usually from the vintage blue jeans), 100% cotton batting, and colorful cotton material. These are so much fun to use and they add color and charm to any kitchen. They make great gifts and really everyone should have a set.  They will be the talk of your kitchen and gatherings.
